State Senator Win Stoller (R-Germantown Hills) issued the following statement after the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court rejected the Governor’s appeal of a lower court ruling that nullified his COVID-19 mandates for schools:
“The Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court’s decision to dismiss the Governor’s attempt to regain unilateral power makes today a good day for the people of Illinois. Because of this decision, the temporary restraining order was not overturned and still in effect.
“Since the beginning of this pandemic, I have been a strong advocate of local control where local leaders have a say in what works best for the people they represent. Now, our local school districts once again have the power to make decisions at the local level.
“It is time once and for all for the Governor to bring an end to his go-it-alone approach to this pandemic and work with the people who only want to be a part of the decision-making process.”
